The Myrrh-bearers Society

A community of Orthodox Christian women who come together in faith, fellowship, and service following the example of the holy women who ministered to Christ. Rooted in prayer and shared life in the Church, the Myrrh-bearers seek to support both the spiritual and practical needs of the parish while strengthening bonds among its members.
Through acts of service— organizing coffee hours and feast day celebrations, planning events, supporting parishioners in need of assistance, sponsoring the purchase of liturgical items, and hosting family festivals in honor of saints and feasts —the Myrrh-bearers help nurture a welcoming and vibrant parish life.
Just as important is the fellowship and mutual support the group offers as women strive to live out their Orthodox faith in their daily lives. Through hospitality, generosity, and quiet acts of love, the Myrrh-bearers of St. Herman Parish continue the ancient tradition of ministering to Christ by serving His Body, the Church, with care, joy, and compassion.
The Noble Joseph Society
The Noble Joseph Society – St. Herman’s End-of-Life Ministry – is named after Joseph of Arimathea, who was considered worthy to bury, in his own tomb, the immaculate body of our Lord, Jesus Christ. In that same spirit of loving service, our ministry hopes to support parish members and their families as they approach their final journey.

Our aim is to offer thoughtful guidance and practical support — helping individuals with end-of-life paperwork and forms, assisting with the planning of a casket and burial plot, offering a team for the final body preparation, and partnering with the family in planning the church funeral arrangements.
